FSB Data Integrity Tester

One of the main areas that may cause hardware level data corruption which is indeed very hard to trace is at Front Side Bus (FSB) the link between CPU and Main Memory (MM) [Main Memory is also informally called RAM]. There data travel at a comparatively high speed and volume. This software focuses to detect corruption of data when it moves from CPU to MM and back, unlike other memory testers that check memory banks bit by bit.

FSBDIT does this by writing small amounts of data and read them back so many times and each time makes sure data which is read is the same as what was written. If it is not it means there is a problem with the Mainboard or MM or both.

There are some limitations to the test. For example it can't test the empty memory banks or it may not test the whole memory bus. Though there may be ways to solve the latter.
